The Ogun State Governor, Dr Dapo Abiodun and former Senate President, Bukola Saraki have sent condolence messages to the family of late governor Rotimi Akeredolu and the people of Ondo State.
The messages were conveyed on their verified accounts on social media.
On Instagram, Dapo Abiodun , who shared a photo of him and the deceased wrote,
“With deep sorrow, we have received the sad news of the passing of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, SAN. Our sincerest condolences go out to the grieving family, Acting Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, and the people of Ondo State.
Governor Akeredolu has left an indelible imprint on Nigerian politics. From his tenure as the Nigeria Bar Association’s chairman to his role as the South West Governors Forum’s leader, he consistently championed justice and the upliftment of his fellow citizens.
Renowned for his tireless dedication to improving the lives of Ondo State residents, Akeredolu spearheaded transformative initiatives that brought about positive change. Under his visionary leadership, the state experienced remarkable advancements in healthcare, infrastructure, and education. His unwavering commitment to sustainable development earned him the admiration and respect of his colleagues and the people he served.
As the nation mourns the loss of this remarkable leader, Rotimi Akeredolu’s memory will forever shine as a beacon of hope and inspiration for future generations. His legacy, grounded in compassion, justice, and progress, will endure, serving as a constant reminder of the transformative power of determined leadership.

In the same vein, the former Senate President, Bukola Saraki shared his condolences on social media. He wrote:
From serving as the Attorney General of Ondo State, to becoming a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, to becoming the President of the Nigerian Bar Association, to eventually serving the people of Ondo as their State’s Chief Executive, the late Governor Rotimi Akeredolu lived a remarkable, inspiring, and accomplished life, by all standards.
His career, centered around the legal profession and governance, showcased his extraordinary ability to lead and serve.
As I join his dear family, my mother’s kinsmen and women in Owo Town where the late governor also hailed from, the people of Ondo State, and the Nigerian Bar Association in mourning the passing of this giant, we take solace in the fact that he left behind a legacy marked by service to our nation.
We will sorely miss His Excellency, Aketi.
Akeredolu died in a German hospital on Wednesday morning— an incident which had generated reactions and condolences from several quarters.
