Celebrated Nigerian comedian and actor, Debo Adedayo Adebowale, popularly known as Mr Macaroni, is beaming with joy after being honored with an honorary doctorate degree from the prestigious Precious Cornerstone University in Ibadan.
Renowned for his comical portrayal of the character ‘Daddy wa,’ a political figure and sugar daddy, Mr Macaroni shared this exciting news with his fans through his social media platform.
This recognition as a Doctor of Creative Writing (Honoris Causa) came at the university’s second convocation ceremony, held today, November 11.
Mr Macaroni, aged 30, is notably recognized for his unwavering support during the #EndSars protest in 2020. He utilized his presence and influence at various protest locations to vocally oppose police brutality, even after experiencing it personally.
Expressing his deep gratitude in a recent post, he wrote, “Dr Macaroni. 👨🏾🎓🎉.I am deeply honored to be considered worthy by the Senate and Council of The Precious Corner Stone University Ibadan, to be awarded the prestigious degree of DOCTOR OF CREATIVE WRITING (HONORIS CAUSA).”
He extended his gratitude to God Almighty for His blessings, as well as the university’s Council, staff, and students, along with his family, friends, and all supporters of his work.
In a message of encouragement to countless dream pursuers, he urged them not to relent and assured them that their hard work will be celebrated. He concluded by expressing his love and gratitude, signing off as “Dr Macaroni.”
