A 44-year-old Nigerian man, Mr. Olanrewaju Kolawole, recently shared his heartbreaking experience after a DNA test revealed that he is not the biological father of his four children. The revelation shook his world, as he had lovingly raised and cared for these children, believing they were his own.
Kolawole appeared on the popular radio show, ‘Kokoro Alate,’ broadcast on Agidigbo FM in Ibadan, hosted by Oriyomi Hamzat, alongside his wife, Mrs. Tella Toyin, to discuss the case of paternity fraud.
The couple, who share four children together—Ayomide, 16, Sarah, 12, and two younger children aged 8 and 5—hail from Ikire, Osun State. Kolawole’s decision to undergo a DNA test for his first child was prompted by suspicions arising from his wife’s behavior. The results of the test revealed that he was not the biological father of the child.
This led him to conduct paternity tests for the other three children, all of which yielded negative results, indicating that he was not their biological father either.
Kolawole expressed his distress, saying, “I want Nigerians to come to my rescue because I must not suffer this in vain. I married Toyin in 2007 and gave birth to four children. She gave birth to four children, but none of them belongs to me after findings from a DNA test.”
The paternity tests were carried out at the DDC DNA Diagnostic Center in Osogbo.
In response, Toyin disagreed with the results and claimed she wasn’t present when the samples were taken and didn’t know which samples were used. She stated, “I don’t accept the result. I don’t accept it because I was not there when they took samples, and I don’t know which sample they took, so I don’t accept it. I can’t accept it because I know how I conceived those children.”
This heart-wrenching story highlights the emotional turmoil faced by the family and the complex issues surrounding paternity fraud.
