Comedian Akpororo has responded to the video by VeryDarkMan in which he criticized the Nigerian movie industry, Nollywood, and its perceived lack of support for Mr. Ibu. Akpororo suggested that VeryDarkMan should shift his focus away from blaming Nollywood, as the industry itself doesn’t have significant financial resources.

He placed some of the blame on their female counterparts, suggesting that some female actors in Nollywood are quick to make extravagant purchases, such as houses and cars, after appearing in just one movie. This could create a misconception that the entire industry is wealthy, leading to unrealistic expectations.

Akpororo also highlighted the absence of a proper structure within the industry and pointed out the governor of Enugu State, which is Mr. Ibu’s home state. He suggested that the governor should have been aware of the situation and offered assistance.

This response from Akpororo reflects the complexities of the Nigerian entertainment industry, including financial challenges, perceptions of wealth, and the need for better support structures for artists in times of need.
