Afrobeats musician Davido has provided an explanation for his absence from a Warri show, after being called out by Amaju Pinnick for not appearing despite receiving payment.
Amaju Pinnick, the former president of the NFF, alleged that he had paid Davido thousands of dollars, along with covering his flight expenses to the event. However, Davido failed to make an appearance.

Davido, who had previously criticized Pinnick by referencing his troubled past, has now clarified the situation to his fans who had paid a significant amount to attend the event.
According to Davido, he had informed the show organizers months in advance that he would not be able to attend in person. However, for reasons best known to them, they continued to promote the show using his name.
Davido expressed his apologies to his fans in Warri who had spent their hard-earned money to attend the event and had to face this disappointment. He assured them that he would make it up to them in the future.
In his message, Davido stated: “To my lovely fans in Warri that spent their hard-earned money to come out. Apologies you had to experience this. I was not going to be physically able to make it, and this had been communicated to ‘them’ for a longgggg while now, I mean MONTHS ago, but for reasons best known to them, they continued to promote the show using my name. It’s a shame. But especially for my fans out there, don’t worry, you know I gotta bring Timeless to Delta State. We will do it proper, bigger and better!”
