Nollywood Actor Alesh Sanni Criticizes Nigerians Tear-Gassed at Lekki Toll Gate During Mohbad’s Candlelight Vigil”
Notable Nollywood actor Alesh Sanni has expressed his disapproval of the actions taken against Nigerians who were tear-gassed during the candlelight procession for Mohbad at the Lekki toll gate.
As previously reported, a candlelight vigil was held in Lagos on September 21 in memory of the late singer. Viral reports indicated that the police dispersed the crowd by deploying tear gas after initially asking them to disperse politely.
Alesh took to his Instagram page to reprimand those who were subjected to tear gas, emphasizing that the event was intended to be a candlelight vigil and not a protest. He wrote:
“You guys missed the point of this whole thing!!!! This is a Candlelight Vigil and not a Protest!!
The initial walk that was supposed to replace the Protest was canceled just because of something like this…
This is a candlelight vigil and not a protest!!”
