Dr. Nasir Idris, the governor of Kebbi and chairman of the Palliative Committee on Subsidy withdrawal, informed Nigerians that steps were being made to mitigate the consequences of the subsidy withdrawal.

When the committee convened in Abuja on Saturday, the governor provided the guarantee.

Ahmed Idris, the governor’s spokesperson, said this in a statement.

Governors Bala Mohammed of Bauchi, Charles Soludo of Anambra, Uba Sani of Kaduna, and Hyacindu Alia of Benue, as well as members of Organized Labor and Civil Society Organizations, were present at the meeting.

The committee was working hard to provide assistance and lessen existing challenges, so the chairman promised that Nigerians will soon have reason to grin.

“The group discussed potential strategies to mitigate the consequences of subsidy reduction, and Nigerians would soon begin to profit from this.

“Be confident that the committee is up to the task; we are committed to provide a decent and appropriate result that will benefit Nigerians.

“To enable us to achieve the goals and objectives set by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in establishing the committee, all Nigerians must be patient, supportive, and cooperative.” The governor of Kebbi remarked.

The federal government, the NLC, and the TUC leadership all agreed on June 19 that all concerns and demands relating to palliative care should be resolved within eight weeks.
