Nasboi, a well-known skit creator and popular musician, is disappointed with the AMVCA organizers for passing him over for the 2023 award nomination.
For not recognizing him in the Online Social Content Creator category for the ninth edition of the Headies awards, Nasboi chastised African Magic Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCA).
While other skit creators who were ranked lower than him won nominations, Nasboi was not acknowledged despite submitting a video for consideration.
During a recent appearance on the TVC program ESplash, he expressed his worries. Nasboi adamantly maintained that his career had a more fruitful year in 2022 than many other sketch creators’, and he feels deserving of at least a nomination even if he does not take home the prize.
You are aware that exactly two years ago, the AMVCA began to include the content creators category. When I wasn’t nominated the first time, I wasn’t very disappointed. But this time, if the AMVCA is looking, I deserved to be nominated.
My friend who was nominated in the first year told me, “Bro, We submitted [our films to AMVCA for nomination consideration. Okay, it makes sense, I think. I can see why I was left out.
“But Nasboi was on fire in 2022, this one simply passed. I deserved to be recognized. This is a modest boast. I was ablaze in 2022. I created excellent, humorous, and motivational stuff. Then, I sent [an AMVCA nomination video] for consideration. A video that is far superior to several of the entries that were nominated.
When I saw the nominees, you know. I anticipated being named. I’m alright even when I don’t succeed in winning. However, I just needed to be nominated because I was deserving of it.
