Sidikat Odunkanwi, a seasoned Nollywood actress better known by her stage name Iyabo Oko, is said to have gone away. The actress passed away on Wednesday night, her daughter Bisi Aisha confirmed today on Facebook.

She added, “May ur soul rest in peace, mummy.”

Foluke Daramola-Salako, an actress, also acknowledged her passing.

“And finally we lost her.. rip Iyabo Oko, we did our best but God knows best,” Daramola-Salako posted on her Instagram page.

The 61-year-old actress struggled with illness before to her passing, which forced her to take a significant vacation from the movie industry.

She was born on November 15th, 1960 in Osun State’s Iwo Local Government Area.

Sidikat went by the stage names “Iyabo Oko,” “Apoti Aje,” and “Sisi Mama.”

One of her daughters, Olamide, revealed last year that her mother had been diagnosed with an ischemic stroke around five years prior but had kept her health difficulties private.

Foluke Daramola, Iyabo Ojo, Bolaji Amusan, Mercy Aigbe, and Biodun Okeowo, among other Yoruba Nollywood celebrities, have previously provided financial support.
