Nigerian pop icon D’banj has been arrested and detained by ICPC. The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has arrested and detained 42-year-old pop star D’banj, whose real name is Oladapo Daniel Oyebanjo.

He was arrested and detained on Tuesday (December 6) after it was exposed that he joined hand together with some government officials and diverted N-Power funds, which was meant to reduce unemployment rate among Nigerian youth.

He allegedly connived with the government officials, created ghost beneficiaries and paid the money into accounts which have been linked to him. He’s currently detained at the commission’s headquarters in Abuja and is being investigated.

D’banj was said to to have been ignoring summons from the commission before he was finally arrested on Tuesday. This is just embarrassing to the Nigeria music industry. We really don’t know what has happened but we will keep you guys updated.
