Lagos State Government on Wednesday arraigned Dr Femi Olaleye in an Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court for alleged defilement of his wife’s 16-year-old niece (name withheld).

Justice Ramon Oshodi granted Olaleye, who is the medical director of Optimal Cancer Care Foundation, bail of N50 million with two sureties in like sum.

The court remanded the doctor in Ikoyi Correctional Centre pending the perfection of his bail.

Olaleye was charged with two counts of defilement and sexual assault by penetration.

He pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Olaleye was supposed to be arraigned on November 21 but the arraignment was stalled.

The defence counsel Babatunde Ogala (SAN) apologised for his client’s absence, noting that he was out of town as of the time the prosecution wrote to him
