She is not new to the palace. Neither did she just meet the Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi.
Queen Temitope Adesegun, who became the Number six wife of the highly revered monarch has been in his life before he married prophetess Naomi.
So, it’s actually a day of victory for the beautiful princess Temitope Adesegun who officially became Mrs Ogunwusi today, October 24, 2022.
Recall the Ooni, in September 2022, welcomed Queen Mariam nee Anako, into the palace amidst pomp. Then, Olori Elizabeth Opeoluwa Ogunwusi nee Akinmuda was also betrothed to the king a few days later in Magodo, Lagos.
On October 9, 2022, he married Queen Tobi Phillips as his third wife. Queen Ashley became his fourth queen on October 16, while Queen Ronke Ademiluyi wedded him on October 20, 2022.
Despite the back-to-back weddings, the Ooni is still attending major events in Lagos with his Yeyeluwa, Mariam Ogunwusi.
The marriage ceremony between the Ogunwusi and Adesegun families was quite elaborate and had in attendance lots of dignitaries.
With an intimidating resume, former Princess Adesegun is a certified alumnus of several universities, including the University of Oxford, United Kingdom; INSEAD Business School, Fontainebleau, France; University of Cambridge, Judge Business School, United Kingdom; and Harvard Kennedy School of Government in the United States.
She is a princess from Adesegun Ibipe Royal Dynasty of Ago-Iwoye in Ijebu North Local Government Area of Ogun State.
The new queen is a former TV Presenter of ‘Health-Wise’ a public health advocacy programme of the Lagos State Ministry of Health under Governor Raji Fasola which was aired for four years.
Describe her as an achiever and you wouldn’t be wrong. She worked as the Personal Assistant to the late Secretary to the State Government, Princess Aderenle Adeniran-Ogunsanya during the Babatunde Raji Fashola-led administration.
Adesegun was once married but divorced. She is actually based in Lagos and a director of Hope Alive Initiative Poverty Alleviation Advocacy that is powered by the House of Odua inspired by the Ooni.
Meanwhile, the wedding announcement was made by the Ooni’s spokesperson, Moses Olafare, in a Facebook post on Sunday.
According to the Olafare, the Ooni’s sixth wife-to-be, Adesegun, is a princess who hails from Ijebu land.
In the Facebook post, Olafare wrote, “Olori Temitope Adesegun Ogunwusi an Ijebu Princess cum Ile-Ife Queen.
“Tomorrow is the D-day.”
After his marriage to Naomi Silekunola failed in December 2021, the monarch has since married five women in less than two months. The queens are; Mariam Anako, who is now his wife, September 6, 2022; Elizabeth Akinmudai; Tobiloba Philips, October 9, 2022, Ashley Adegoke, October 14, 2022 and Ronke Ademiluyi, October 20, 2022.
