This October, the ancient palace in Ile Ife will be a beehive of activities.
From planning of the grand wedding reception of the monarch, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi to Yeyeluwa Mariam nee Anako to the 48th birthday party of the Ooni and two other weddings, its indeed celebration galore.
Recall Queen Mariam was welcomed into the palace in September 2022 amidst pomp. Then, Olori Elizabeth Opeoluwa Ogunwusi nee Akinmuda was also betrothed to the king a few days after in Magodo, Lagos.
But Oba Adeyeye Babatunde Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II isn’t stopping with just two new queens.
Who says we wouldn’t be counting up to 7 weddings this month?
Well, the Oonirisa of Ile-Ife, is set to welcome officially, on Sunday October 9, 2022, his third queen, Tobi Phillips.
A former beauty queen, who was also a model, Queen Tobi Phillips is is said to have been dating the Ooni for over six years! A graduate of Marine Science from the University of Lagos, she was tipped to be queen after Oloori Zynab Wuraola left but fate thrust in Prophetess Silekunola Naomi, who also separated from the monarch in December 2021.
Princess Ashley ‘ascends her throne’ at last!
She is the incoming queen number 4.
For Princess Ashley Afolashade Folakemi Adegoke, marrying the Ooni legitimately is a dream come true. Prior to this relationship with the king, she had a 10-year-old daughter with another man. She is a chartered accountant and her passion is also servicing less privileged kids and widows through the Ashley Adegoke Foundation.
Armed with a degree in Accounting coupled with Masters in Accounting and Finance from the University of Greenwich, she runs her businesses in the United Kingdom, where she is the head honcho at RisenCrown Ltd.

Oloori Ashley sprang from the Lafogido royal house and her late father—Jacob Adebiyi Adegoke— was a Prince of the source.
Meanwhile, before being coronated king, the Ooni was previously married to Adebukola Bombata in 2008 but the marriage failed. Then, the monarch married Edo-born Zaynab-Otiti Obanor in 2016 but the union lasted for 17 months before their separation.
He later married Silekunola in 2018 and the marriage produced a son before the divorce announcement in December 2021.
But the monarch also had a daughter with Omolara Olatubosun as a teenager. Olatubosun gave birth to Princess Adeola Ogunwusi but recently, there have been counter-claims between the Ooni and Olatubosun over who was responsible for the upbringing of their daughter.
With four beautiful queens in his harem officially, all hands are on deck to welcome four others as the weeks run by.
