Why She Didn’t Marry Jim Iyke + Anosike’s Current Marital Status
The rumour of their affair had always been in the media. But she never admitted it.
Said to have been engaged in 2019 but didn’t go ahead with marriage plans due to some hitches, Nollywood star, Rita Dominic, on Saturday revealed her lover after keeping his identity under wraps for years.
He is Fidelis Anosike, founder of Folio Media Group, a multimedia company which owns Daily Times Nigeria.
Rita Dominic shared photos of herself and Mr Anosike on her Instagram handle and her fans have gone wild with excitement.
For one who is extremely private about her love life, this is the first time the sultry actress would ever showcase her lover or give hints of his identity on social media.
In one of the photos, Rita Dominic and her man are clad in matching pyjamas while holding champagne flutes.
In the second photo, Anosike hugs her from behind as they both smile to the camera.
Although they have been romantically linked to each other in the past, this is the first time the actress will be confirming the rumours.
Mr Anosike has close ties to the entertainment industry as he is the organiser of The Miss Nigeria pageant.
The 45-year-old actress has never been married and is one of Nollywood’s most eligible bachelorettes.
The Mbaise, Imo state-born actress in an interview on TVC said: “At the end of the day, if I’m going to do it, i’m doing it for myself not that the society wants me to do it. I always will still say; I will marry the man of my dreams and not the man the society dreams for me.
“Society feels there’s something wrong with you if you’re a certain age and you’re not married. What if it’s the society something is wrong with? For forcing someone to do what they don’t want to do?”
Meanwhile, some fans thought she would have married Nollywood star, Jim Iyke.
Then, in Nollywood movies, you would not see a Jim Iyke without seeing Rita Dominic—they always acted romantic scenes together.
So, why didn’t he marry his TV lover, Rita Dominic?
“Rita and I met when I was just beginning to embrace fame, and the comforts that came with it. The laurels, the distraction, even the destruction. And Rita is not the kind of woman that hangs around a lot. We were very deep with each other. We still are great-friends though we don’t speak constantly. As a matter of fact, it may surprise you that we haven’t spoken to each other in over two years,” Jim Iyke revealed in an interview with BroadwayTV.
He continued on their relationship: “But when we meet, we are cordial, and respectful. There is that deep-rooted thing of a man or woman you shared something with. I don’t think Rita at that time was looking at longevity, truthfully. Don’t forget, I was the kid with the crazy afro, ready to start a fight anywhere. My life was about having a good time and as many conquests as possible. So, who wants that kind of guy?”
However, Rita’s new man, Anosike cannot be said to be either married or divorced. He was said to have been married but then, he allegedly had a live-in lover who later left but none can be said to be his wife.
