Indeed, this is a ‘drag’ season!
Just as fans are getting over the April 2020 arrest and subsequent conviction of Nollywood actress Funke Akindele-Bello in a Lagos court over Lockdown violation, Zanku master, Zlatan Ibile has called her out on social media for attempting to create enmity between him and Naira Marley.
He wrote on his Instagram story:
“Funke Akindele Jenifa said I should stay away from Naira Marley because of my brand. She fucked with Naira Marley, they arrested her”.
Surprisingly, everyone thought and believed that singer, Azeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley is a friend of the Bellos.
Recall that the house party that brought about Funke’s arrest had Naira Marley in attendance. As a matter of fact, Naira Marley and two others (former gubernatorial candidate in Lagos State, Babatunde Gbadamosi and his wife) were also arrested for attending the birthday party of Funke’s husband, JJC Skillz despite the lockdown in Lagos.
According to Funke in her explanation some hours before her arrest, the ‘Jenifa’ star said her husband, Abdulrasheed Bello aka JJC Skillz; and singer Azeez Fashola aka Naira Marley, were in her house before the lockdown order from the Federal Government.
“Naira Marley came in here before the lockdown. And when the lockdown was announced, he said he would love to stay back, saying he loves this environment. I said, ‘okay fine. Then my husband’s birthday came up. And we all came together as a family.”
That’s how close they were.
But for Zlatan to now call out Akindele for advising him against hanging out with Marley, is puzzling.
What went wrong?
Funke Akindele hasn’t responded.
