Ailing Nollywood actor, Babatunde Omidina, popularly known as Baba Suwe, was on Friday taken to the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) on a wheelchair.
The 60-year-old arrived the hospital in company of executives of the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN) who facilitated the admission with the assistance of the Federal Ministry of Health.
A statement from the association disclosed that the minister of health, Prof Isaac Adewole, directed that the actor be given “first class medical attention and treatment” following appeals by TAMPAN president, Bolaji Amusan.
It added that the minister lauded TAMPAN for pulling together resources for the comedian, promising the association full support as it embarks on health insurance policy for its members.

“TAMPAN president, Otunba Bolaji Amusan, who was really appreciative of the honouarble minister’s quick response wishes to equally say a big thank you to the Federal Government of Nigeria for giving the association a listening ear. To ace actor, Muyiwa Adegoke, aka Londoner, for his efforts too. He also lauded the kindest gesture of the Vice President of Nigeria, Prof Yemi Osinbajo, actors and all well-meaning Nigerians home and abroad,” the statement added.
