This has become his anthem in recent times— Marriage doesn’t work.
He even went further to state that he has not promised any of his babymamas marriage.
For Bayelsa-born music act, Timaya, this campaign of marriage-does-not-work-but-be-a-babydaddy has gone further and he has advised his colleague Phyno to forget about marriage because it doesn’t work anymore.
Timaya said this on Sunday when Phyno had a number of his colleagues including Paul of the now-defunct P-Square to his house as his father celebrated his 70th birthday.
The ‘Fada Fada’ crooner took to his Instagram live feed to share a video of Timaya saying it is advisable to just have a child instead of getting married.
Timaya said this while Phyno’s parents were present.
“Just born pikin, pikin go grow. Mummy this marriage thing no dey work,” Timaya said to Phyno’s mother.
The unmarried ‘Telly Telly’ singer recently stated that he is done making babies after three children from two different women.
In an interview with Punch last month, Timaya said that while many young men became fathers by impregnating their unmarried lovers, they have proven to be better fathers than those that had consummated their unions.
“People fail to understand that a lot of baby daddies are better fathers than a lot of husbands. The kind of role I play in my children’s lives, I don’t think some husbands do that.
